About Vincent & MovingToDubai.org

MovingToDubai.org by Vincent

I’m a French expatriate who spent ten years in Canada before relocating to Dubai in 2026. I built this site to turn a complicated move into practical decisions supported by real costs and current official sources.

What I Have Personally Done

My own move included choosing Dubai Hills, signing a tenancy, registering Ejari, setting up DEWA and internet, furnishing an apartment, opening UAE bank accounts, buying and registering a used Toyota Yaris and organising the international relocation of my Golden Retriever.

Housing

A real AED 110,000 Dubai Hills tenancy paid in two cheques, including deposit, agency, Ejari, utilities and furnishing.

Banking and setup

Firsthand experience opening accounts, managing salary and rent cheques, and completing the practical arrival sequence.

Daily life

Real monthly costs, driving, transport choices, neighbourhood trade-offs and the less obvious tasks after arrival.

Experience Is Not the Same as Expertise

I use firsthand language only for something I have actually done, used or paid for. I am not an immigration lawyer, tax adviser, doctor, financial adviser or regulated relocation professional. Guides covering regulated or sensitive subjects prioritise official UAE authorities and clearly state when professional advice may be appropriate.

Editorial promise: a bank or service I have not personally used is presented as an independent documentary review—not as a fabricated personal experience. Temporary fees, promotions and eligibility rules are dated where possible.

How the Guides Are Researched

  1. The article begins with the real decision an expatriate needs to make.
  2. Firsthand facts are separated from researched claims.
  3. Government authorities, regulators, fee schedules and official institutional documents take priority.
  4. Costs are stated in AED, with a date or context when they may change.
  5. Related guides are linked in the sequence a person is likely to need them.
  6. Material updates change the article—not merely its displayed date.

Transparency and Accountability

AI tools may assist with research organisation, drafting, formatting and quality checks. They are never treated as a primary source. Final publication decisions and responsibility for the content remain human.
