Dubai Medical Fitness Result 2026: Check Status Online

Dubai medical fitness result — updated for 2026: after completing your residence-visa medical, check the application through the official Dubai Health service and monitor the email address registered on the application. The certificate is issued electronically. A completed medical result is an important milestone, but it is not the same as final residence approval or Emirates ID delivery.

This guide is specifically about tracking, receiving and using your result. If you have not yet taken the screening, start with our separate Dubai medical fitness test guide, which covers prices, blood tests, chest X-rays, documents and approved centres.

Dubai medical fitness result: quick answer

Question 2026 answer
Where should you check? The official Dubai Health medical fitness service used for your application—not a third-party tracking site.
What do you need? Your medical fitness application or transaction reference and the identity details attached to the file.
How is the certificate delivered? Electronically, normally to the email address registered on the application and through connected government systems.
Standard service target Within 24 working hours.
Premium service target Within 6 working hours.
VIP service target Within 2 working hours.
Smart Salem target 30 working minutes for the published AED 700 package.
Does “fit” mean the residence is issued? No. It clears the medical stage; immigration and Emirates ID steps may still be pending.
What if it is delayed? Check the package’s working-hour target, registered email and application details before contacting the centre or Dubai Health.

The current service targets above come from the official Dubai Health medical fitness package list. They are measured in working hours. A test late in the day, before a weekend or around a public holiday should not be judged by ordinary elapsed time.

What to collect before checking your medical fitness status

Use the same details that were entered when the medical fitness application was created. The most useful document is the application form or payment receipt supplied by the employer, free-zone authority, Amer centre, typing centre or self-service channel.

Have the following ready:

  • The medical fitness application or transaction number
  • Your passport number and nationality as entered in the application
  • Your Emirates ID number, if you already have one
  • The date and centre where the screening was completed
  • The mobile number and email address used for the application
  • The service package purchased: standard, premium, VIP or Smart Salem

Do not post these details in a public forum or send the full certificate to an unverified WhatsApp account. A medical fitness certificate is both an immigration document and sensitive personal information.

Why the registered email matters

The certificate goes to the email attached to the application, which is not always the applicant’s personal address. When a company or agent creates the file, the registered email may belong to HR, a PRO or a typing centre. If the status shows that the certificate has been issued but nothing is in your inbox, first confirm who owns the email on the application.

How to check a Dubai medical fitness result online

1. Use the Dubai authority that processed the test

For a medical examination completed in Dubai, begin with Dubai Health’s official services portal or the result-status link provided in the application confirmation. Do not use the Abu Dhabi or northern-emirates channel simply because your residence is a UAE residence; the health authority follows the emirate where the medical file was processed.

The Salem system is an official platform, but its login page is intended for registered companies and typing centres. If your employer or PRO submitted the application through Salem, ask that organisation for the application reference or the issued certificate rather than trying to use its corporate login.

2. Select the medical fitness application-status service

Look for the service labelled along the lines of “Check Medical Fitness Exam Status” or “Medical Fitness Application Status.” Dubai Health can change navigation labels or move services within the portal, so use the official portal search rather than relying on an old bookmarked third-party page.

3. Enter the application details exactly

Use the reference printed on the medical application or receipt. Preserve leading zeros, hyphens and the passport spelling used in the original file. If the system asks for more than one identifier, enter the same passport, Emirates ID or date information that appears on the application.

4. Read the stage, not just the colour or icon

A status page can show that the application is still being processed, that the certificate has been issued or that additional action is required. Portal wording can change, and not every delayed file displays the same label. Do not infer a medical outcome from a generic “processing” message.

5. Check the registered email

Search the inbox and spam folder for messages from the official health authority. If an employer or typing centre entered its own email, ask it to forward the certificate securely. Confirm the applicant’s name, passport number or Emirates ID reference before using the document.

6. Save the certificate and pass it to the correct visa channel

The result is exchanged electronically with connected government systems, so an immigration officer may not need a printed copy. Keep your own PDF or email record anyway. Your employer, sponsor, PRO or free zone may need confirmation before continuing the residence application.

Important: attendance at the medical centre is not proof that a result has been issued. For planning purposes, record three separate milestones: test completed, certificate issued and residence application advanced.

Where to find the medical fitness application number

The tracking reference is normally on the application form, payment receipt, booking confirmation, SMS or email generated when the file was created. It may be described as an application number, transaction number or reference number. Do not assume the centre queue ticket is the tracking reference.

If you cannot find it:

  1. Search your email and SMS history for Dubai Health, Salem, the typing centre, Amer, your free zone or your employer.
  2. Ask the person who created the medical application—not merely the person who booked your transport to the centre.
  3. Check whether the receipt is stored in your company HR or visa portal.
  4. Contact the medical fitness centre with your test date, passport and payment details if the submitting party cannot help.

For first-time residents, the medical application number is not the same as the Emirates ID application number. For renewals, it is also different from the existing Emirates ID card number and the GDRFA residence file number.

What your Dubai medical fitness status means

The exact words shown online can vary. The table below explains the practical interpretation without claiming that every portal uses the same label.

Status type Practical meaning What to do
Submitted or registered The application exists, but the clinical journey may not be complete. Confirm you attended every required station at the centre.
Processing or pending The sample, X-ray, identity check or clinical review is still being processed. Wait until the purchased package’s working-hour target has passed.
Issued, completed or fit The medical fitness certificate has been finalised for the application. Check the registered email and confirm the residence file moves to its next stage.
Follow-up or further review The authority requires an additional step, repeat test or clinical assessment. Follow the official instruction; do not diagnose the reason from the portal wording.
No record found The reference may be wrong, the file may not yet be visible or you may be using the wrong authority. Recheck the receipt and the emirate that processed the application.

Does “fit” reveal your medical details?

A fit certificate confirms that the applicant cleared the medical-fitness requirement for the residence process covered by that application. It is not a general medical report, a full set of laboratory values or proof that a person has no health condition. Treat it as a limited-purpose administrative certificate.

How long does a Dubai medical fitness result take?

Dubai Health’s published packages currently state the following targets:

  • Standard: within 24 working hours
  • Premium: within 6 working hours
  • VIP: within 2 working hours
  • Salem Innovative Centre: 30 working minutes

These are package targets, not a guarantee that every file will be automatically finalised within ordinary clock time. The result can take longer if the authority needs a repeat blood sample, an additional X-ray review, a correction to the identity record or a further clinical assessment.

How to count working hours correctly

If you purchased a 24-working-hour package, do not escalate after 24 elapsed hours when part of that period fell outside official processing hours. The same applies to weekends and government holidays. Keep the centre receipt because it proves the package selected and the time the application entered the service journey.

Should you pay for a faster package?

A faster package can be useful when an entry permit, residence expiry, work start, travel booking or dependent application creates a real deadline. It does not change the clinical standard or guarantee a fit outcome. If you are not under time pressure, the standard package is usually sufficient.

What to do if your medical fitness result is not received

Use a short, ordered check instead of submitting a second application.

  1. Confirm the purchased package. A standard application should not be compared with the Smart Salem target.
  2. Count working hours. Exclude periods outside the authority’s working schedule.
  3. Check the reference. Make sure you did not enter a visa, Emirates ID or queue number instead.
  4. Check every possible inbox. Include spam and the employer, PRO or typing-centre email.
  5. Confirm your identity data. A spelling, passport or email mismatch can interrupt delivery.
  6. Ask the submitting channel. The organisation that created the application can often see the transaction trail.
  7. Contact the centre or Dubai Health. Provide the application number, test date, centre and identity details through an official channel.

Do not create a duplicate paid application unless Dubai Health or the authorised submitting channel tells you to do so. A duplicate can add cost and make it harder to identify which file is feeding the residence process.

What “follow-up” or additional review means

A follow-up message means the file needs further official action. It does not, by itself, state a final medical outcome. A repeat sample, technical imaging issue, identity correction or clinical review can all extend the process. Only the approved centre or health authority can explain what is required in your case.

If you receive a follow-up instruction:

  • Use the contact details or location stated in the official message.
  • Bring the original passport or Emirates ID requested, plus the application receipt.
  • Attend promptly, especially if the residence or entry permit has a deadline.
  • Do not rely on an unrelated private laboratory report unless the authority asks for it.
  • Do not pay anyone who claims they can alter an official result.
  • Avoid sharing a screenshot of the status in public groups; it can expose identifiers.

Medical and immigration outcomes are case-specific. This article explains the administrative process; it cannot interpret a clinical result or predict whether a residence application will be approved.

How to download and store the medical fitness certificate

When the certificate is issued, save the original PDF or official email rather than only taking a screenshot. A screenshot may omit verification details, the full reference or pages required by an employer or visa processor.

Use a filename that makes the document easy to retrieve, such as 2026-09-medical-fitness-certificate-name.pdf. Store it in a secure folder with your passport copy, entry permit or status-change document, residence application and Emirates ID receipt. Keep personal and family-member files separate.

Do you need a printed copy?

Dubai’s systems increasingly exchange the result electronically. In many cases you will not need to collect or submit a stamped paper certificate. Still, keep a digital copy and print one if your employer, free zone or immigration channel specifically requests it.

Can an employer keep the certificate?

An employer or authorised PRO may need the certificate to complete a work-residence process, but it remains sensitive personal information. It should be stored within a controlled HR or immigration file and not circulated broadly through group chats or unrelated teams.

Medical fitness result vs residence visa and Emirates ID status

These are three different checkpoints:

Checkpoint Responsible process What completion means
Medical fitness result Dubai Health / approved screening journey The medical requirement has been finalised for that application.
Dubai residence status GDRFA Dubai and the authorised visa channel The immigration application has moved through its approval and issuance stages.
Emirates ID status Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) The identity application, biometrics and card issuance/delivery are progressing or complete.

If the medical certificate is issued but the residence remains pending, the next check belongs in the immigration workflow. Read our Dubai residence visa guide and confirm the file with the sponsor, free zone, Amer channel or GDRFA Dubai.

If residence is complete but the Emirates ID is still pending, use the ICP application trail. Our Emirates ID guide explains biometrics, tracking and delivery separately.

Employer, PRO and family applications

If your employer arranged the test

Ask HR or the PRO for the medical application reference, registered email and package level. A good employer workflow records the appointment date, attendance, result date and the next residence action separately. “Employee went for medical” is not the same as “certificate issued.”

For the wider sequence—offer, work permit, medical, residence and Emirates ID—see our Dubai work visa guide.

If a typing centre or Amer service submitted it

Keep the itemised receipt and verify which email was entered. Contact the same centre first if the result is shown as issued but you did not receive it; the certificate may have gone to the centre’s account. Do not give a new intermediary your passport data merely because the original agent is slow to respond.

If you are sponsoring a family member

Track each adult applicant under the correct reference and passport. Do not mix a spouse’s receipt with a parent’s or adult child’s file. The medical certificate is one part of the dependent residence process described in our Dubai family visa guide.

If you are self-sponsored

Investors, freelancers and Green Residence applicants should keep the result with the rest of the self-sponsorship file. The medical step does not replace the occupation, income, permit or sponsorship evidence required by the route. Relevant guides include the Dubai freelance visa and Dubai Green Visa.

What happens after a fit result?

Once the fit certificate is issued and linked to the application, the residence process can continue. The next action depends on the visa route and which tasks have already been completed. It can include:

  • Submitting or finalising health-insurance evidence where required
  • Completing biometric registration for a first Emirates ID
  • Continuing the GDRFA or free-zone residence issuance workflow
  • Confirming the digital residence record
  • Tracking Emirates ID production and delivery
  • Providing final onboarding documents to an employer

Passing medical fitness does not provide health insurance. Before choosing a policy, compare networks, co-payments and exclusions in our Dubai health insurance guide. For the wider public/private care landscape, see the Dubai healthcare system guide.

Finally, add the certificate and the follow-on visa tasks to your moving-to-Dubai checklist. This avoids the common mistake of assuming that one successful result means the entire relocation file is finished.

Frequently asked questions

How can I check my Dubai medical fitness result?

Use the official Dubai Health medical fitness application-status service with the reference shown on your application or receipt. Then check the email registered on that application for the issued certificate.

Can I check the result with my passport number?

The status service may ask for an application reference plus identity information. Start with the medical application number because a passport number alone may not identify the correct transaction. Use the exact passport details entered in the file.

How do I download the Dubai medical fitness certificate?

Save the PDF delivered to the registered email or made available through the official application channel. If the status is complete but you did not receive the file, check spam and confirm whether your employer, PRO or typing centre used its own email.

Why does the portal show no record?

The most common administrative explanations are an incorrect reference, use of the wrong authority’s portal, a new file that has not appeared yet or a mismatch in the identity details. Check the receipt before contacting the submitting channel.

Why is the result still pending after 24 hours?

First confirm that you purchased the standard 24-working-hour package and count working—not elapsed—hours. A repeat sample, additional X-ray review, identity correction, holiday or clinical follow-up can extend the timeline.

Does a fit result mean my visa is approved?

No. It confirms completion of the medical fitness requirement for that application. The residence application still has immigration stages, and the Emirates ID has its own application, biometric and delivery stages.

Can I collect the result from the medical centre?

The standard process is electronic. Contact the centre only if the published service time has passed, you cannot access the registered email or the authority has specifically asked you to return for follow-up.

What should I do if the status says follow-up?

Follow the official instruction and attend the designated centre with your identity document and application receipt. Do not guess the medical reason or attempt to replace the government process with a private report unless requested.

Is the Salem login the applicant tracking portal?

The Salem system login is intended for registered companies and typing centres. Individual applicants should use the Dubai Health status channel or obtain the result through the employer, PRO or authorised centre that created the application.
